The Gifts I'm Actually Giving This Holiday
There are tons of holiday gift guides out there, and I’ll be doing another one for The Scout Guide launching this week (which is going to be AMAZING), but since there are a ton of great deals this weekend I wanted to put this out there in the universe now. Gift guides sometimes feel a bit generic to me, although I do find them helpful for the hard-to-shop for people in my life. But this year, I finished my Christmas shopping for my family and loved ones EXTREMELY early - I probably started looking in September and am kind of hoarding the gifts ‘til Christmas. The benefit of this early completion made me think, I can show you what I got everyone. No frills, exactly the gifts I purchased this year and for who. Luckily we are all adults and they basically all know what they’re getting anyway - although there might be some surprises in there!!
There is a mix of local and non-local, and almost everything here I got on sale and you can, too. Hopefully this helps you find an idea for someone in your life you just haven’t figured out yet!
For the Holiday Hostess
These tassels from Patina are the perfect hostess gift - they are from Mackenzie Childs, which everyone loves, and they are scented so you can hang them on your tree or around the house and it emits a wonderful Christmas scent. I ended up picking up a few to bring to parties and may have gotten the diffuser for myself ;) Since I’ve done candles, tea towels, and other items this is something new and unique to bring your hostess!
For the Mom & Mother-in-law
My sister and I went in on a joint gift this year for my mom, getting her a Louis Vuitton scarf that she’s been wanting for a few years! I found a gorgeous scarf at the LV in Tyson’s Galleria. The one we got her is limited edition, so I couldn’t find a photo anywhere.. but below is similar. It is a classic gift that she will have for years to come.
For my mother-in-law, I went all local. She had seen this gorgeous Tanya Taylor top from Periwinkle and asked me for one for Christmas back in September. Since I didn’t want to get her just the one top, I added another of her must-haves, these Mignonne Gavigan earrings from The Shoe Hive in gold - she will be the most stylish woman in Texas!
For the Dad & Father-in-law
These are ones I am so impressed with getting done early. Why are fathers always so hard to shop for? Anyway, we JUST got these gifts this week. For my Dad, a classic Barbour wax cotton jacket with the insertable vest for extra warmth. We got it from the Orvis store in Buffalo so that he could try it on. At $415, this was a joint gift with my sister.
My father-in-law needed a new tie, so he and JD stopped into the Hermes in Highland Park. Another classic that he will have for years!
For the Sister & Sister-in-law
My sister loves to golf, so I decided on a full golf outfit in a classic white and navy. I have a similar golf outfit from Tory Burch Sport and love it. The quality is amazing. They are having a great sale right now as well!
For my sister-in-law, I came upon this Veronica Beard jacket on crazy sale for $180 (retails $600) on their website back in July. It was too good to pass up, as she had been wanting a Veronica Beard blazer for a long time and this color would be so cute on her. I also recently got her a DMARAN headband that just looked like her as well.
For the Coworkers/Employees
My pharmacy employees are mostly all female, so I got them all this amazing body butter special edition trio from Arbonne. Their body butter is insanely luxurious and at a reasonable price point of $45 ($30 after my discount). Last year I got them all S’well water bottles and those were a HIT, but you can’t go wrong with something they will use like body butter. For the three guys in my pharmacy - TBD, but likely YETI tumblers or gift cards.
My husband’s present is TBD, since he usually just buys what he wants or is so picky that he would undoubtedly return anything I buy! A few of my ideas, however, were a Peloton bike, a Montblanc pen, or a Panerai watch he’s been eyeing.
Let me know what gifts you’re getting your loved ones this year. Hopefully this sparks some ideas!
